How does PPT-Mirror work?
December 12, 2022
The PPT Mirror program mirrors PowerPoint slides.
You get back either a PowerPoint or a PDF with the mirrored slides.
With conventional teleprompter apps that continuously scroll text downwards, you fall into a stiff read-aloud mode.
The advantage of PPT-Mirror: you can use your existing presentation and speak to it via the prompter. Your delivery stays natural because you're not reading word for word.
If you place the slides in a teleprompter on an iPhone or iPad, for example, you have to advance them manually.
You have two options for advancing the slides:
A Bluetooth or USB remote control (available for just a few euros, some even combined with a laser pointer, like the ones used in "normal" presentations).
With it, you can advance the slides largely unnoticed.
Here's an example on Amazon: Logitech R400 Presenter
What I personally like to use is a foot switch (also USB). This "pedal" is used by musicians who want to turn their sheet music pages on an iPad. Foot switches are inaudible and let you advance slides – or flip back if needed – whether sitting or standing. For example this one: LEKATO-Bluetooth-Turning-Silent-Turner
PPT-Mirror is available as a Windows or Mac version.
